Industrial offering boosted

Trevor Morton

Prime Pump’s recently appointed Industrial Sales Engineer, Trevor Morton, is a second generation engineer and says his apprenticeship as a fitter and turner was almost inevitable. “My father and uncles were all involved in the industry.”

Trevor brings a rare level of practical skills, knowledge, and contracting experience to his new role, emphasising Prime Pump’s commitment to the industrial sector.

From 15 years in maintenance engineering, to sales in a steel foundry, operations manager for a leading contractor, to working on industrial and vacuum pumps, his career has followed a single passion: Engineering.

As Trevor says; “It’s been part of everything I’ve done.”

He says the skills he’s learned and breadth of experience have proved highly transferable and have added real value to clients, especially when it comes to trouble-shooting and providing effective solutions.

While Trevor works across all Prime Pump’s brands he says vacuum pumps have been a particular focus, going into industries including major dairy processors, hospitals, sewage transfer and joinery and wood working.

“All pumps spin my wheels and interest me – every different type does a different job."

“Its what makes me happy to get up each day.”

Trevor says what has most impressed him about working at Prime Pump has been not only the quality of the brands but the integrity of the people. “They’re a good bunch of guys.” He says it’s not just about supplying pumps, it’s always about the best fit for the job. “And where there’s an issue, they solve it.”

He gives a lot of credit to his success in his career to early advice from his mother. “She said; ‘Go and get a trade, then you can go and do whatever you want.

She was right.”
